Minister: Top Russian firms can launch plants in Syria in 3 yrs

ABU DHABI, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Large Russian industrial companies can localize their production in Syria in three years aiming at exports to third countries, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told reporters on Monday.

“This is absolutely possible but it has to be assessed, looking not only at the Syrian market but more broadly at other countries if we talk about assembly. Because the Syrian market is not big enough in all respects to count only on one country,” the minister said.

He said that some Russian companies are already working in Syria in upgrade of the energy sector, supply of construction and road equipment, and recovery of the economy.
